For years now, the video store was the way to get movies. The next generation it seems will be getting their movies from movie downloads, avoiding any trips to the store. Following is a list of a few movies that you can get using a movie download site.
It Takes All Kinds: Fair triple-cross drama in reference to Miles’ guarding of Lansing after the man inadvertently kills a sailor in a fight in Australia. Cast includes Vera Miles, Barry Sullivan, Sid Melton, and Dime Sugg. (98 minutes, 1969)
Pack Up Your Troubles: Daffy two-some are followed throughout WW1 after some Army shenanigans they try to pinpoint family members of late friends’ daughter. This is a fun movie. Cast includes George Marshall, Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, Mary Carr, Grady Sutton, and Billy Gilbert. (68 minutes, 1932)
Jack Be Nimble: Strange, smart little chiller in which the title personality is adopted into a family of bad people and he is neglected completely. So he sets out to find his long-lost sis, and then to seek revenge for his mistreatment. Cast includes Alexis Arquette, Sarah Smuts-Kennedy, Bruno Lawrence, Tony Barry, and Elizabeth Hawthorne. (93 minutes, 1993)
Mac and Me: Sort of an E.T. copy in reference to Mac, an outer space being, and his plight in suburban L.A. It is more of a television advertisement than a film. There’s a production number set in a McDonald’s, and the alien lives on Coca-Cola. Cast includes Christine Ebersole, Jonathan Ward, Katrina Caspary, Lauren Stanley, and Jade Calegory. (93 minutes, 1988)
Black Legion: Plant employee Bogart, disheartened after losing a promotion to a colleague named “Dombrowski,” becomes engaged with a Ku Klux Klan type group. This commanding and still pertinent drama is well made. Cast includes Humphrey Bogart, Erin O’Brien-Moore, Dick Foran, Ann Sheridan, Joe Sauers (Sawyer), Helen Flint, Dickie Jones, and Henry Brandon. (83 minutes, 1936)
Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band: Try to link melodies from The Beatles’ classic album into some kind of tale line just doesn’t work; patterns range from reasonable to humiliating. As to The Bee Gees performing ability, well let’s just say that they are not the Beatles. Cast includes Peter Frampton, The Bee Gees, George Bums, Sandy Farina, and Steve Martin. (111 minutes, 1978)
The All-American Boy: Jumbled drama in reference to Olympic optimistic Voight’s effort to be a successful boxer; striking locations of northern California, but that’s all. Cast includes Jon Voight, Ned Glass, Anne Archer, and Carol Androsky. (104 minutes, 1989)
Rock Pretty Baby: A mock-up of rock and roll contests of 1958. It is centered on a high school rock group as they attempt to win at a huge music competition. Cast includes John Saxon, Luana Patten, Edward C. Platt, Fay Wray, Pole McKuen, Shelley Fabares, and George Winslow. (89 minutes, 1956)
Batman and Robin: The villain Mr. Freeze is trying to take over Gotham City, by freezing the town into submission. With the beautiful villain Poison Ivy trying to form a rift between Batman and Robin, the duo has a lot to deal with. As always they somehow find a way to come out on top.
If you’re looking for downloads, type in “Online Movie And Game Rentals” to a search engine, see if you find something good. When one search fails to succeed just change things and try again. See if “Movie Rentals List” gets a better result.
