Presenting Your Crafts in Florida
Florida is one of the popular vacation states here in our country; and it has attained this status for good reason. For one thing, it is warmer than most states, being dubbed as “the Sunshine state” by many people. Add to that the prominent beaches, as well as the many fairs and festivals all throughout, and you would fully understand why many people enjoy staying here.
Those of you who wish to earn a few extra cash with your crafting talents will have a chance to do so here, as well. All you have to do is get produce whatever it is you’re good at making, and then approach the event organizers of a particular fair to set up a booth. Sounds easy, right?
Unfortunately, it’s not as easy as it sounds. Like all financial ventures, this will require some work from your end first. Of course, the most important of these are your crafts themselves. I know someone who makes minor trinkets for fairs; cheap earrings, bracelets and the like that are ideal for the beach. She spends quite some time in making the items themselves; if you plan on selling your wares, you should similarly have a ready supply handy.
And then, you’ll have to contact the organizer for such events. As you will be renting the area, you will need to pay them an amount to set up a booth. Make sure that you understand all the little details when working out an arrangement; some organizers provide chairs and tables, and others don’t. Some would ask for a percentage of your sale. It’s better if you are aware of these things beforehand, rather than be surprised after the fair.
When you get there, it is important for you to be able to showcase your crafts properly. Don’t just set your crafts on the table and hope the customers will come; you have to make it presentable, and be warm without overbearing to those who look around.
